Our bodies are constantly changing. Sometimes they crave the heat and movement of a strong practice, and at other times they need to rest, be nurtured and return to a place of balance.
Yoga is many things to many different people; for some it is an intense physical workout, for some a gentle restorative practice, and for others, yoga may be therapeutic movement aimed at easing pain and tension in the body.
Whatever yoga means to you, I am here to help.
I offer my patients the option of adding a yoga practice to their treatment plan because I am a firm believer that the best treatments continue out of the office and don’t just happen on the treatment table. Private yoga instruction allows us to focus on what works in your body with modifications available to people of all levels. During individual yoga classes, I help you to find the ideal alignment in a pose, taking note of your body’s natural tendencies and learning what areas need strengthening and what areas need stretching. I encourage my patients to take the tools they learn during a therapeutic yoga session home and incorporate them into their daily routine. The content of the class will be tailored to your individual needs and is designed to help open your body and relax your mind. Private yoga is available to everyone whether you’re a patient or not.
Prenatal and Postnatal yoga are also available! Mamas, take advantage of this special time to bond with your baby while caring for yourself.
Yoga can help to ease tension in the body and prepare you both mentally and physically for labor and birth.
Postnatal yoga is great for healing and strengthening the pelvic floor, hips, and abdomen. Enjoy opening your heart and easing tension in your neck and back. Teach your body to realign after hours of holding your new bundle of joy! Please contact me directly with questions or to schedule private yoga sessions.
